John Borquin

John went to PCC immediately following graduation; dropped out in October 1965; re-classified for the draft; was drafted into the Army in March 1966; basic training Fort Bliss Texas; spent time at Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Fort Chaffee, Arkansas; Fort Mead, Maryland; shipped to Vietnam in 1967-1968; came home and went back to finish up at PCC; went to CSULA for BS Administrative Management; started working for a printing company in L.A. during school; went into the sales department there; 20 years later I wanted out of L.A. so changed companies and moved to Northern California; still in the printing field but doing point of purchase displays for the wine industry as well as food and toy industries.

Married a La Canada girl in 1971, divorced in 1976, no children from that marriage; then met and married Jean in 1978. We lived on Sherwood Place (top of Chevy Chase) in Glendale for 9 years before moving to Pleasanton (35 miles east of San Francisco).

We have one daughter, Katherine, currently in her second year of college at DePaul University, Chicago. We love boating, family, friends and town activities. John is on the Board of Directors of POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising Institute) based in Washington, DC; President of his golf Men's Club; travels to L.A. almost every week to the main office; travels around the country for trade shows and speaking engagements in the display industry.

Jean is an RN; works about 2 days per week in the GI department; teaches aerobic dancing (23 years now) twice per week; takes care of the home and ME! We are waiting to retire when our daughter finishes college. Where we will go, if anywhere, is still up for discussion. Probably will include two houses - summer and winter locations.

That's about it in a nutshell!
